Ruokasalin kaapisto (Dining room cabin)

Ruokasalin kaapisto tuli valmiiksi viikkoa ennen joulua Kaapisto on tehty bubinga puusta, joka on erittäin kova ja kestävä puulaji. Bubinga on painoltaan lähes kaksinkertainen esim.mäntyyn nähden.

Kaapisto on tehty täysin perinteisellä tavalla. Valmistumisaika oli 5 kuukautta. Pintakäsittelynä on tang puun siemenpohjainen puuöljy.

Asiakas tilasi samantien ikkunan toiselle puolelle samanlaisen kaapiston, joka pitäisi saada valmiiksi ennen kesää.

Dining-room cabinetry was completed one week before Christmas. Cabinetry is made ​​of bubinga wood, which is very hard and durable wood species. Bubinga is almost double the weight of pinewood.

Cabinetry is made ​​entirely in the traditional way. It was completed in 5 months. Surface is finished wiith Tang tree seed-based wood oil.

The customer ordered instantly another similar kind of cabin to the other side of the window. which should be completed before the summer.

Saviharkkoseinä on muurattu (clay/adobe walll is built)

Taas on aika kohta palata verstaalle puutöiden pariin,kunhan tässä on ensin nautittu

hienoista syyssäistä pelaamalla golfia ja liikkumalla metsissä.

Uudisrakennus on edennyt hyvin  ja keväällä jatketaan uunin muuraamisella sekä saviharkkoseinän ja muiden harkkoseinien rappauksella.

Esimerkki rakennuksen toimintaperiaatteesta kylmällä ilmalla:

Puutyöt on nyt seis syksyyn asti.

Loppukevät ja tuleva kesä tulee menemään uudisrakennuksen kanssa, joka tulee sisältämään pizza kuistin (kuvassa oikealla näkyvä matalampi osa) sekä viherhuoneen, joka sijoittuu kellarikerrokseen menevään portaikkoon.

Kellarikerroksessa tulee sijaitsemaan myös tekninen tila, varasto ja viinikellari. Kellarikerroksen päälle tulee tupakeittiö ja nukkumisparvi. Tupakeittiön ja portaikon väliin tulee saviharkkoseinä. Saviharkkoseinä varastoi lämpöä ja tasaa kosteutta eli seinä hengittää.    

Tulen itse tekemään kaikki sisätilan kalusteet. Hommaa riittää.

Uusia projekteja (New projects)

Työn alla iso salin hyllykkö 215cm*125cm*30/40cm, materiaalina bubinga.

Kuvassa näkyy ylä ja keskiosan runko johon tulee lasiovellinen yläosa ja avonainen keskiosa välihyllyllä.

Tämän lisäksi tulee ovellinen kaappiosa.

I am working on a big hall shelves 215cm * 125cm * 30/40cm, made of bubinga.

on joints of Munt. It allowes the free movement of the panels.

The table top  has room for shrink and grow despite it's attached to stand.
This is possible because of the four blocks shown in the picture.

The stand design gives room for the legs both sides of the table.

Avainkaappi (Key Cabinet)

Kesäni meni pihatöissä pääasiassa pergolan ja kivetyksen parissa.


My summer passed by doing the yard work mainly pergola and paving.

Lokakuussa palasin taas verstastöihin ja avainkaapin sain valmiiksi ennen Joulua.

In October, I returned back to work and the workshop I got the keycabinet completed before Christmas.

Asiakkaan kanssa sovittin materiaali ja alustava mitoitus, sekä pintakäsittely ennen projektin alkamista. Itselleni jäi aika paljon vapautta kaapin muotoilussa ja sisätilan suunnittelussa.

Kaapin materiaali on erittäin korkeatasoista,hyvin kuivattua ja hyvin valikoitua, saksalaista tammea.

Muotoilussa on pyritty yksinkertaiseen, mutta kuitenkin puulle hyvin sopiviin muotoihin ja selkeyteen (kaarevat ylä-ja alatasot).

Sivulevyt on liitetty tasoihin likuvilla lohenpyrstöliitoksilla (sliding dovetail joint).

With the client was agreed what would be the preliminary design, as well as surface treatment prior to the start of the project. Myself, was pretty much the freedom of the cabinet design and interior design.

The cabinet material is very high quality, well dried and well selected, the German oak.

The design is aimed at simple, but very suitable for wood, and the clarity of forms (rounded top and bottom).

Side panels are attached to the levels by sliding dove-tail joints.

Olen tehnyt aikaisemmin yleisimmät englantilaisissa ja -ruotsalaisissa antiikki huonekaluissa käytetyistä liitoksista, mutta mielestäni liukuva lohenpyrstöliitos oli vaikein tähän astisista liimauksen suhteen.

Liitoksen välys on ainoastaan 0.1 mm. Sivulevyt on liutettava samanaikaiseti paikoilleen ja liima tekee liitoksen tahmeaksi ja helposti kiinnijuuttuvaksi ennen perillemenoa.

I've done in the past the most common in the English and Swedish antique furniture used in the joints, but I think a sliding dovetail joints were the most difficult what comes to cluiing.

The joint clearance is only 0.1 mm and the side panels have to be slided in place simultaneously and the clue makes the joint sticky and easy-sticking.

The door is attached to a cabinet with knife hinges, and to keep door shut I used
Krenov type door catch.

Kaappi on varustettu kaapin alaosassa sijaitsevalla laatikolla. Aukaisinmekanismi on myös itse tehty. Kahvaa tai nuppia ei näin ollen tarvita ja se antaa mahdollisuuden laatikon lisä syvyteen.

The cabinet is equipped with a drawer at the bottom of the cabinet. The drawer opening lever catch is also a self-made. The handle or knob is therefore not required, and it gives the opportunity to increase the depth of the drawer.

Kaappi on pintakäsitelty sellakalla ja mehiläisvahalla.Tätä käsittelyä on käytetty ja käytetään Englannissa pääasiallisena pinnoittena tammikalusteille. Näin on myös tehty Billnäs huonekaluissa aikoinaan.

The cabinet is finished with shellac and beeswax. This treatment has been used in England, and is used primarily as a coating of oak furniture. This has also been used in Billnäs furniture.

Kirjoituspöytä leveämmällä kansilevyllä (Drawing Desk)

Kirjoituspöytä: kansilevyn koko  700*1600*48 (leveys*pituus*paksuus).
Laatikko ja kaappi runko: 500*530*730 (leveys*syvyys*korkeus).

Kirjoituspöytä on tehty massiivi saarnista ja käsitelty Danish oljyllä, jonka pohjana on kiinalainen tang puun siemenöljy. Tilaaja on ollut iloinen erikoiskäsittelystä, koska pöly ei tartu pinnoille. Kirjoituspöydän rakenteessa on huomioitu kaikessa, että puu pääsee elämään; kutistumaan ja laajentumaan kosteusvaihtelujen mukaan.

Kaikki liitokset ovat samoja joita on käytetty antiikkihuonekaluissa kuten lohenpyrstö, muntin ja perhosliitokset.

Olen itse kehittänyt laatikoiden etulevyjen kiinnitysliitoksen, joka pohjautuu puolikätkettyyn lohenpyrstöliitokseen, joka on kuvassa näkyvän peitepalan takana. Teollisesti tehdyissä vastaavissa tuotteissa on tavanomaista, että etulevyt irtoavat tappiliitoksistaan. Omalle liitokselleni voin antaa ikuisuustakuun.

Muumilinna (Moomin Castle)

Linna rakentuu erillisistä palasista. Rakennuksessa on seitsemän tasoa:

The castle consistist of independent pieces. The building has seven layers:

The material is unhandled cedar other than tops that are birch and sycamore. A staircase will be attached to castle after next summer. It is also possible to include wallpapers to rooms.
